Project Accountant - Fully Remote - 50-55k

Following recent successful placements for a long standing client, Fuse are now recruiting for a Project Accountant to aid in accruals accounting, variance analysis, and finance reporting for governance groups.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Ensure the collection of and maintain accurate records, management information, and indicators regarding project/programme/portfolio financial performance to support senior decision making
• Manage and monitor costs; ensuring that financial systems are accurate and up to date
• Provide centre of excellence level support to projects and programmes in financial tracking and forecasting
• Conduct In-flight Project/ Programme Financial Reviews, providing challenge where necessary.
• Create finance reports with commentary on variance analysis, risks, and opportunities
• Attend and facilitate portfolio/ programme level meetings/workshops as required
• Assess pipeline projects and assist with financial estimates
• Review and challenge cost estimates provided by project managers to assist with decision making forums
• Assess impact of change requests, new funding requests against existing Portfolio budget allocation from 5-year financial plan, reporting impacts to key governance groups to assist in strategic decision making
• Produce Management information, insights, and reporting dashboards to key governance groups on the performance of project and programme
• Coach, mentor and (if necessary) manage the performance of PMO Analysts

The correct candidate will possess the following:

• Project accounting experience, ideally working in a PMO role.
• Qualified accountant or qualified by experience
• Excellent understanding of the role of PMO within a project/programme/portfolio environment
• In depth skill in working with large amounts of information to provide succinct analysis, spotting, and communicating trending information
• In depth skill and understanding of financial and budget management as it applies to a project, programme, and portfolio of change
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Skill in working with groups to build consensus and resolve conflict
• Demonstrate an innovative approach to problem solving including identifying opportunities for development and improvement
• Can influence and negotiate with key and senior stakeholders over deadlines, required inputs, updates etc.
• Previous experience of working on large scale projects or programmes.
