Data Migration Business Analyst (Pensions)

We're looking for an experienced Data Migration Business Analyst to support a pensions data migration project, helping to ensure high-quality data is migrated from a legacy platform into a strategic target system.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong data analysis and stakeholder engagement skills, ideally gained within pensions or financial services.
Location
- Manchester - Hybrid working with a minimum of 1 day per week on-site (more as required)
Contract
- Outside IR35
- Initial 3-month contract
The Role
Working closely with IT and Pension Administration teams, you'll analyse legacy data, identify data quality issues and gaps, and support the remediation required to enable a successful migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Review data extracts from legacy systems to identify and document data quality issues.
- Analyse data anomalies such as invalid National Insurance number formats, incorrect field values and missing information.
- Work alongside the IT Development Manager to identify data gaps between the legacy and strategic systems.
- Engage with Pension Administration teams to understand the business context behind data requiring remediation.
- Document findings, data issues and recommendations to support migration activities.
- Help improve the quality and completeness of data prior to loading into the target platform.
Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst on data migration or transformation projects.
- Strong data analysis and data quality assessment skills.
- Experience identifying and documenting data issues, gaps and remediation requirements.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, documentation and communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience within Pensions, Life & Pensions or Financial Services.
- Previous involvement in legacy system migrations or platform transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of pensions administration data and member records.
